Unreal Engine 5
Epoch is built in UE5. As a result, we are able to take advantage of the cutting edge tech available in this engine, such as Lumen, Nanite, and Metasounds, to create a visually stunning and performative gameplay experience.
Innovative Combat
Our combat is an amalgam of the many inspirations from our gaming tastes. The following are the some key features of our combat:

Dual-Stance Combat - Our two combat stances, light and heavy, each provide unique experiences in gameplay and are balanced to be contrasting yet complementary. Each stance has various move-sets that can be unleashed by experimenting with different combinations and weaving the two stances together.

Combo-Oriented Move-sets - Our combat is not limited by systems like stamina but instead based on the player's ability to chain moves together and react to attack windows. Successful combos reward players with even more moves, damage increases, and many forms of utility.

Essence Bar - A departure from classic action-combat resource systems, the Essence Bar is a resource that rewards aggression and skill. Players can strategically use and manage Essence to unleash powerful attacks or use it as utility in various situations.
Dynamic Music System
Harnessing the power of Unreal Engine 5, DMS is a stem-based music system using a formula comprised of multiple in-game variables to update music intensity in real-time. The intent is to allow the music to flow with the fight in a way that creates a more immersive auditory experience.
Gameplay Ability System
With a backend in C++, Epic's G.A.S is a proven framework for quality games. Being used in AAA games such as Fortnite, we were able to leverage the G.A.S to make Epoch's framework highly modular. As such, we are able to build quality content quickly. This allows us to focus on creating the most exhilarating and immersive game possible.
